We are home! (Aka- Day 2 of 2)

So, we are sure that when you were reading our last blog posting/picture book, you were left wondering- will they make it to North Platte tomorrow?  Well, allow me to create Part 2 of our Picture book adventure to answer that question.

Brian & Nina stayed at the wonderful Super 8 hotel in Green River, Wyoming.  And while they got more mosquito bites (as modeled below) than hours of sleep, Brian & Nina started day 2 of their journey, more determined than ever to reach their new home.

Nina kindly accepted the first leg of the day's driving, as Brian caught some much needed ZZZZZzzzz as they traveled on,

through the beautiful sunrise state (not the actual state nickname, just the made-up nickname from this witty narrator) known simply as Wyoming.

And yes.  Still smiling the whole way.

Brian & Nina took many pictures of Wyoming as they traveled through it; however, because each picture was just as boring as this one, this is the only view of Wyoming, you, our faithful blog reader will see (and no offense to you Wyomingites? Wyomingans? Wyomingons? out there, you have a beautiful state, just not as viewed from a stuffed car for five hours straight).

Wait a second! That's not Nina, looks like Brian finally decided to wake up.  Good morning, Brian!

Then, after yet another grassy hill, Brian & Nina see something they have waited two months to lay their eyes on...

So, naturally, they took a few moments, got out of their car (because only crazy people take state billboard sign photos from their car), and shot this picture.  They were closer to home than ever before!

But before they could make it into North Platte, they faced the dreaded Death Cloud again.  But fortunately, they had an ally on their team: Nebraska's 75MPH speed limits.  In a Vroom and a Woosh, Brian & Nina peeled away from the rainy Death Cloud (of doom) and onto clearer skies.

Brian & Nina were so desperate to reach North Platte, they celebrated (like this, "woo!") with each passing mile marker sign.

At last, after fighting off evil winds, sinister rain, and deadly clouds, Brian & Nina made it to their happily ever after (awwww....)

And while Brian & Nina decided to keep their garage shut for this picture (as there was surprise insulation hanging down from the ceiling when they opened it), they are optimistic that with a few minor touch-ups, this will remain the home of their dreams.

A blank slate now awaits Brian & Nina.  Should they put a couch under the window, or use that room for the TV? (Which was so graciously donated by Sam & Chris, and the rest of the Church of Christ).

Speaking of the Church of Christ, this story will not be complete without a proper "Thank you" to them. To be honest, upon arriving at their home in North Platte, Brian & Nina were feeling pretty overwhelmed, what with the crazy black grasshoppers, slinky spiders, and bigger-than-expected town.  But, with the help of their North Platte friends Sam & Chris, they were able to enjoy the rest of the evening and begin to truly see the beauty of North Platte.

So here the story ends (for now), at the North Platte Starbucks (the only Starbucks in hundreds of miles in all directions, just f.y.i).  Thank you to all who helped make this story a reality.  It is through your unconditional love and support that this story ends with a happy ending.

Until Next Time...
