Our dear blog readers, we have completed our first day of traveling! Where are we now? We'll give you a hint, the town's name that we are in is the color of a certain Muppet and a specific type of body of water. If you thought Brown Puddle (Brown from the Muppet- Rowlf the Dog), you'd be right! No, but seriously, the Super 7 at Brown Puddle was sketchy, so we're were now at a Super 8 in Green River, WY.
Instead of simply writing down what our day's journey was like, we decided to add pictures as well. Just think of it as a Brian & Nina picture book. You blog readers with young children (yes, you) now have an additional book to read your children during reading time =].
Once a upon a time, Brian & Nina, a nice, young, married couple left their families to embark on an exciting journey. Their cousin Jeff helped to convince the last box to fit in their extremely stuffed little blue Kia.
The morning of their journey, Brian & Nina left from Brian's parents' house. They had to leave quickly in the morning because the decepticons were hot on their trail (that's a nod to you Aedyn).
Wearing their super-cool sun glasses,
Brian & Nina left the desert on their drive to their destiny.
Brian & Nina first passed through Nevada, a dry, hot desert land
with more casinos than cities (not an actual statistic).
As Brian & Nina continued their journey in Nevada, they soon realized there was absolutely no one in front of them or behind them. So, naturally, Brian & Nina took a leaf out of Brayden's book of skills, and decided to "hide" by driving to Arizona as quickly as possible.
But driving so quick forced Brian & Nina to stop for gas. When they stopped for gas, they noticed two things: 1) The actual gas nozzles looked like they hadn't been upgraded since the 60's, and
2) the main gas company "Sinclair's" logo looked exactly like the dinosaur logo of the gas station from Toy Story.
Because Brian & Nina's car looked so much like the car off A Goofy Movie, they couldn't help but stop and take this picture of the huge RV which parked next to them. Brian couldn't even fit the whole RV in the picture! Who knows, maybe Grandma and Grandpa were inside? =]
As Brian & Nina are silly sometimes, they took a shot of the Arizona state line from their moving car (this narrator must pause to say that for a picture taken from a speeding little Kia, it is very well taken).
Same story with Utah (with the same random side note from the narrator).
In Utah, Brian & Nina found the one and only Starbucks (to their knowledge). Quickly, they snapped this picture; who knows how long this Starbucks will last there.
Yes, Nina always smiles like this when she drives. Always.
Bad news! In Utah, Brian & Nina drove through a crazy thunderstorm! Fortunately, because their cousins helped them pack their supplies so well, nothing got wet!
Next, Brian & Nina faced the Tunnel of Doom, (also known as the tiny hole in the mountain that barely classifies as a real tunnel). Don't worry, they got through it okay, phew...
Seriously, biggest sign in the world! Yup, that's it, this picture has nothing to do with Brian & Nina's story, except that, oh yea, it's a huge sign!
In Utah, Brian & Nina also had to drive under the Death Cloud, at least that's what they called it. But while this cloud was pitch black and threatened to deluge on them the whole time, it allowed them to pass with no problems.
Again, nothing and no one ahead, beside, or behind Brian & Nina. Weird.
This narrator forgot to introduce Glenda the GPS. Without her skillful navigation and insightful decision making, Brian & Nina would have never made it to Green River in such good time.
Finally, the sun set (at 9:30 at night) on Brian & Nina's first day of driving,
and though the driving made Nina's feet swell up like balloons,
Brian & Nina are still super excited about reaching their home in North Platte tomorrow!
Until Next Time!
Okay, this may be my favorite blog so far!
