For those of you readers who haven't been following or progress in Nebraska (all 2 of you), you must be on the edge of your seat (careful you don't fall off). What have we been up to since we have arrived in Nebraska? Have we been completely devoured by mosquitoes yet? The answers to these questions and oh, so much more will be revealed to you in the following set of pictures. Now, I know we wrote the last two blog postings as a children's book, so let's raise the IQ of this blog post shall we? (No offense to the babies in the family, writing the story was fun).
So before we moved to Nebraska, we applied to be on a new show on HGTV. Surprisingly, they gave us a call once we got up here. Pimp My Bathroom really lived up to their promise. How do you like our new, stylish bathroom? (Sorry to break it to you, if I got you with the previous joke, No Pimp My Bathroom for us, just a few Wal-Mart supplies later and our bathroom looks great!)
New game- What room is this? And what items are in this picture? If you guessed the guest room/office, and pillows and a clock, you'd be, well, correct, I guess. Wow, that game turned out to be lame. Yup, not much happening in this room yet, still being imagineered (yes, I am using the excellent made up Disney word "imagineered." Wish I could just make up words and people would use them. Let's try, new word= blunging. I like to blung. That is blogging while having fun. No? Okay, I'll leave making up new words to Disney).
Same game here? Bit harder this time isn't it? Well, this is where I leave you in suspense. We shall wait and see what our bedroom will look like (if you have already seen our finished room on Facebook, well then, good for you, but maybe you can play along, just to make us happy).
Who's that in our house? Putting our furniture together for us? Oh, it's just Brian. Phew, for a second, we thought someone else was putting together this ridiculously impossible furniture together.
How do you like our new kitchen. Please notice our beautiful, black dishwasher in the left hand corner. Yay!!!!! Wooo!!! Dishwasher!! What? No we are not excited at all.
Same game- What in the world is this? I'll let you stare at this picture...
and this picture...
and this picture...
and this picture...
and (can you guess?) this picture...
don't forget about this picture, before I tell you what these pictures are all about. As you can guess, or if you remember from Facebook, these pictures show North Platte's mosquitos' favorite place to go to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Apparently, the cuisine in Nina's legs, back, and arms is to die for (literary, as Nina as killed a few diners as they were right in the middle of feasting). Oh, is this bordering on disgusting? Don't worry, Nina, the restaurant has been closed down for good, DEET has shut her down (yay!)
Remember that messy picture of the bedroom? Ta-da! The suspense is over! Thanks for playing along! Admire, say "ooh" and "aahhh" at our nice bedroom set-up. We can't wait to go to sleep....zzzzzz....zzz..ooppps...sorry, we should finish this post first.
Wait, what's this? Brian & Nina actually bought new furniture? That's right, but you should be happy to know that they spend all day first, looking and haggling for the very best price first. Rest assured, they got it.
Wait, what is under all of that mess? That's right, the first new couches Brian & Nina have ever had! Woo! But don't worry, again, the price was right (definitely a game show Nina wouldn't be allowed to go on, her sixth sense for the true value of items is impressive).
Yup, this came in the purchase set too. Finally, furniture that matches. It has been years in the making!
Well, that's all the photos we have. Unfortunately, we were having too much fun with our new friends in the church, what with moving in our heavy furniture, eating pizza and enjoying a few hearty laughs (that's right, hearty), to take any pictures to post here. Without all of their generous support, we would still have only 15 somewhat beat-up boxes and luggage in our apartment.
Time for bed, of course, those of you in California don't understand that as it is only 10:35 PM there now. Actually, that's borderline late for you too. Time for all of us to go to bed. Sleep tight!
Until next time...
Ummm, since this is the first new furniture you've bought, you may not realize that you have to take the plastic off the dresser and endtables in order for the drawers to open. lol It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having lots of fun! I'm happy to see that you got there safely! Your blogs are very cute and fun to read. Try not to get eaten alive! :-)
