We apologize for the lack of blog-age.
& confess that it has been 11 days since our last update.
Anyway -
What has been "up" with us, you ask?
Well, let us think... hmmm...
Work has been "the norm".
Brian leaves at 7:00am and gets home at 5:15pm.
Nina leaves at 7:45am and gets home at 5:15pm.
We feel very lucky & happy that we are on almost the same schedule!
So nice to have the weekends to spend together! :)
We often times jump up & celebrate just like this cute frog here! ;)
Brian left on Thursday, September 29th, for a speech conference
in a city that is about 5 hours away from North Platte.
Brian is the head speech coach
(one of Brian's excited speech students)
at Brady, so he got to travel to Norfolk Thursday-Saturday
to learn the rules, regulations, and changes for speech meets in Nebraska!
Speech is a *HUGE* deal out here - so he was very excited to go,
and he learned a TON!
But he is ready for a nice, relaxing day tomorrow. (as you can see above ;))
September 30th marked the first freezing temperature of the season!

As you can see - VERY cold!
There was even ICE on Nina's car in the morning!
We're obviously not used to this happening... ever... & especially in SEPTEMBER.
Fall is starting to actually be a season, which is something we're also not used too.
The trees are really starting to change colors
& some of the leaves are falling from the trees.
Granted, it's all just beginning, but even this slight change in the season
and temperature is extremely different compared to California!
We're adjusting... but are definitely enjoying it thus far!
Let's see... what else does October bring?
Oh Yes!
Nina is leaving for a conference for work.
She leaves October 17th & returns the evening of the 20th!
We still have to pinch ourselves sometimes
because we can't believe that we both have grown up jobs
where we're able to use our degrees we worked so hard for!
Nina, the social worker. Brian, the teacher.
All of this & we're only 22 years old... we still beam from ear to ear just thinking about it.
Okay, enough with the sappy - although true - tangent.
Other than work and conferences, nothing else is really going on with us currently.
Which, honestly, is a good thing!
We're still adjusting to the working bit, however, (yes, Grandma, you were definitely right) it is getting easier and easier, week by week. :)
Alright - well - that's all we have so far.
Thanks for the laughs & the tears. (of joy, of course! ;))
We'll leave you with our sign off and hope to return before 11 days have passed again.
Thanks, again, of course, for the forgiveness...
Oh, & for the loyalty in following our blog.
We could use some more comments, but, we do want to give a big
SHOUT OUT
to our grandparents who ALWAYS comment!
Thank you, Grandma & Grandpa - we LOVE comments!!! :)
Okay - rambling complete - sign off intact...
Until Next Time...
Woohoo to "real jobs" they come with real paychecks!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love fall ... We had forgotten how beautiful it is! The leaves are turning, the weather is crisp, you get to wear a sweater and a cool hat ... picture here a big smile for FALL!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad the speech conference went well and how exciting that you get to go next, Nina. Grown up jobs can be fun (keep repeating that). We have also had some freezing temps so I sympathize, but we'll be warm for the next week. Take care and love you lots.
